SRD R350 Application Status Expected Results

When you review your SASSA SRD status, you will receive one of the following outcomes. I will provide an explanation of each result, including its significance and the appropriate actions to be taken.

  • Application Complete:  Your application or reapplication for the SRD R350 grant has been completed and will now undergo verification for each month before it is approved. While this does not guarantee receipt of the grant payments, it does indicate that you are one step closer to receiving them.
  • Status Declined:  If your SASSA status is showing as Declined, it indicates that your application did not meet the eligibility criteria, and SASSA has rejected it. SASSA will also provide you with the reason for their decision.
  • Status Pending:  When your SASSA status pending, it indicates that SASSA has received your application but requires additional time to review and verify your details before making a decision. Your status will be updated once their verifications are complete, and you will be notified whether your grant has been approved or rejected.
  • Identity Verification Failed:  It appears that there was an issue with verifying your identity, as SASSA could not match your information with the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) records.
  • Bank Details Pending:  It seems that SASSA has received your application/reapplication, but it appears that you have not yet provided your banking details or selected a preferred payment method. It is important to select your preferred method (Cash Send or Bank) or submit your banking details on the SASSA website.
  • Reapplication Pending:  It appears that you have not yet re-applied for the SASSA R350 grant. To do so, you should submit a new application on the SRD website. The SASSA R350 grant was originally created in response to COVID-19, but it has since been extended to assist those in need. All unemployed and needy citizens must reapply for the grant in order to continue receiving assistance.
  • Period Pending:  The “period pending” notation indicates that your reapplication verification for a specific month, such as “period December pending,” is still pending. It is important to regularly check your status for that month until you receive a payment date.
  • Period Approved:  The “period approved” always displays for a specific month, such as “period January approved.” This indicates that your application has been approved for that particular month. To find your payment date, look for the “pay day” field. If the field is empty, it means the payment has not been processed yet.
  • Period Declined:  The “period declined” notification indicates that SASSA has declined your application for a specific month, such as “period October declined.” If you believe the reason for the decline is invalid and you are eligible for the grant, you can submit a reconsideration request through the website.
  • Canceled:  Your grant has been canceled, but it can be reinstated through the website.

SASSA Status Check Online for SRD Payment Dates 2024

The South African government has announced that grant recipients will not have a specific date to receive their payments, and the payment schedule will be shared at the end of each month for the following month. Beneficiaries will receive financial aid for each month they qualify for, and it is important to check the status of your payment each month to confirm your SASSA payment dates.

SASSA has released Sassa payment dates for the year 2024, but it’s important to note that they may be subject to delays due to public holidays or other unforeseen circumstances.

When And How Will My SRD Grant Be Paid After Status Check?

SASSA releases the payment schedule for each month at the end of the previous month. It’s important to remember that you can only collect your grant payment after doing a status check and receiving an SMS notification confirming your payment for that month.

If you included your bank details when submitting your SASSA application, the grant money will be deposited directly into your bank account.

If bank details were not provided, grant money can be collected in cash from local Post Office branches (SAPO/Post Bank) or from SASSA-partnered retail outlets.

  • Pick n Pay
  • Shoprite
  • Boxer
  • Checkers
  • Usave
  • Spar

How Do I Change My SASSA Banking Details?

To change your SASSA SRD R350 banking details, you can do so if you are a permanent beneficiary of a SASSA grant. It’s important to note that the process is slightly different for South African citizens and Asylum Seekers/Special Permit holders. First, you’ll need to visit the official SASSA website at srd.sassa.gov.za. Once there, go to the bottom of the page and select your nationality.

It’s important to remember that SASSA is unable to deposit your grant into another person’s bank account, so it’s necessary for you to provide your own registered bank account. This also applies to your mobile phone number, which must be in your own name. After SASSA verifies your new bank details, your upcoming grant payment will be deposited into your new account.

What to Do If My SASSA Status is Declined?

If your application for an SRD grant is denied and you feel that it was mishandled or unfairly rejected, you have the option to appeal to the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA).

The appeal process allows applicants to challenge the SASSA rejection decision of their initial SRD grant application. It is handled by ITSAA, and must be filed within 90 days after the decision is made. To lodge an appeal, you will need to provide the following details.

  • Your name
  • Contact details
  • SASSA reference number
  • The reason why you believe that you are eligible for grant but your application was declined unfairly
  • Any evidence that supports your appeal

To submit your appeal for SRD grants, you must provide all details to ITSAA through their website at srd.dsd.gov.za/appeals/appeal. If your appeal is successful, ITSAA will reverse SASSA’s decision and you will begin receiving SRD grant payments. If your appeal is unsuccessful, you will be notified of the outcome.
